While also creating distraction for the GOP as they attempt to again repeal the ACA?

The only logic to this that I can even remotely see is this bill generates tremendous excitement among the population which puts pressure on Congress to act. Even though this bill will not happen, Republicans could feel pressure enough that it forces them to compromise by dropping the repeal action. I suppose this is possible but it feels too much of a gamble and Sanders has been pressing Medicare for All for a very long time, long before we learned Trump was president.

Words mean less than action.
