Got a call from a woman who was on the fence last year but loathes and despises DT now. [View all]

She's the young widow of one of my husband's relatives. We call each other a few times a year.

She says now that she voted for Hillary, but whenever I've talked to her since her husband died several years ago she has said things that made me think she was picking up the rightwing politics of some of her husband's old buddies. If I'd have guessed last year, I could have imagined her not voting at all. She didn't seem to have a fixed point of view.

Well, those days are over. She called me right after she'd "liked" something on my FB page to say she loved my "passion." And then she let loose with how much she hates Trump. She loathes him. She despises him. She can't stand everything about him and she thinks he is insane. Which he is, of course. And she listed many of the insane things he's done. She's clearly been paying attention; and whatever she might still hear from her husband's old friends, she's not buying it. (And she said that if her husband were still alive, they might not be getting along.)

She said that, working in a public position in a small town, she had to be careful what she said around there, and it was so good to vent with someone she knew would agree with her.

So I'll keep making my political FB posts, even though I know some people frown on them. Maybe there are more people like my relative's widow last night, who don't want to speak up themselves but are thrilled when other people do.

ON EDIT: she said that her conservative mother, in another state, doesn't like DT either. Keep it up, DT. You're losing them!
