16. We need to leave the path to redemption open.

I can believe that some people who don't pay that much attention to politics voted for Trump because all they know about him is that he's a "successful businessman". If they realise now that he's a racist pig and want to walk away, that's fine with me. I don't see the point in attacking someone who is in the process of renouncing Trump.

I also think that we can all make mistakes without them branding us for all of eternity as "racist pigs". I said racist shit when I was a kid and didn't know better and then I learned, grew up and stopped. That doesn't make me a "racist pig" for all of eternity. It makes me a person who made mistakes and then tried to learn from them.

If the only people we are accepting into the Democratic party are people who have never done anything wrong in their lives, it's going to be a pretty small tent and then good luck in 2018.
