(14,690 posts)Sorry if I misinterpreted, but who are you addressing the question to when you say:
"Why spotlight the contribution of the Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee and then lump the other three together as unnamed Democrats?"
And I thought it was common knowledge,

Poll Confirms Bernie Sanders Is the Most Popular Politician in the Country.
And I don't know if Biden was included in that poll, but I have a hard time thinking that if you are talking about Republicans and Independents also voting in that poll that Biden would overtake Sanders. (Pence came in second). But who cares if he is first or second. The point is that he is very popular, he is willing and able to work with Democrats, and that can be taken advantage of.
The only reason I bring up that poll, is that it is dumb not to use Sanders popularity. Is Sanders using the Democratic party to push for social changes? Yes. But the Democratic party is also using Sanders to push forward their own popularity and credibility with voters that may not have given it otherwise, which is a smart thing to do. Popularity is not everything. But it cannot be dismissed in the world of politics.
And BTW, Even thought she would have made a very good President, Hillary is not employed by the government anymore. That she won California by so much, but didn't win quite enough in the rust belt states, but still won the overall popular vote, is neither here nor there. Neither is the fact that she won the primary. Sanders is still employed and is just doing his job, and doing it well. Let him be.
