4. Why would Kim do that? He wants to secure the future of his regime, not its end.

Virtually every reputable foreign policy analyst believes he's neither crazy nor suicidal. Also that he has reason to believe that in future foreign powers might act to remove him from office, which is what he himself has said is a reason for developing "the bomb," also to compel respect for NK from other nations.

Personally, if I fear anything it'll be a massive cyber attack, perhaps even a grid-down scenario that would turn one or more regions of this nation into today's Puerto Rico, but without hope of full restoration of power within only six months.
