A second Civil War if Trump is impeached? [View all]
I've been reading articles about various groups who are trying to instigate a civil war if the congress impeaches Trump.
Some of these articles were about fundamentalist "Christian" preachers who were predicting that "God" would "smite" us if we were to go after Trump. And they went on to proclaim that there would be an armed rebellion of "Christians" who would rise up in the name of "God."
Some reporters interviewed wingnut militia groups, and extremists of all sorts, including some self-proclaimed KKK leaders. They also threatened armed rebellion if Trump were to be impeached.
My bad to not have grabbed/copied/pasted the various articles I've read over the past few months and posted them here.
Nonetheless, if congress does somehow get around to impeaching the Orange Menace, you can bet that there will be a whole lot of armed crazies out there trying to get their "New Civil War" started.
It's hard to see how a country could have a "Second Civil War" when there are no geographic boundaries separating the factions. After all, while we believe that Trump is nuts, our next door neighbor might love him. Strange "battle lines" for a major "civil war" to take place.
It's virtually impossible for a "Civil War" to take place under such circumstances. Think about it. Is every American going to go after every other American who doesn't have the same political beliefs? That way lies madness.
So the bottom line is: What do we do about those who believe a Civil War is coming and really want it to happen? Here's the answer. Ignore them. It ain't gonna' happen.
And if it does, we'll be living in a post apocalyptic (Mad Max) type world where none of this crap will matter.
