25. Just two things

When Tannehill went down, Ross told the Dolphins coaching staff he would be open to looking at bringing in Colin Kapernick. I personally hoped they would bring in Kap as I felt he would bring a better skill set to the QB position than Cutler. Ultimately I believe it was Cutler's prior knowledge of the system Miami runs that gave him the edge over Kapernick.

The non football act that more likely weighed into the Dolphins decision to go with Cutler was not Kapernick kneeling during the National Anthem, but Kapernick's decision to wear a Fidel Castro shirt and praise the Cuban government in interviews with Miami Herald reporters last season. While views toward Cuba are changing in South Florida, you still have a percentage of the population that believes the Castro government is evil and would withhold support for any organization or person seen as being anyway supportive of Castro or the Cuban government. Given the large Cuban population in South Florida, I have zero doubt the Fidel t-shirt was a topic of conversation in the Miami front office during the decision process of who they would sign

I'm not a big Stephen Ross fan, but I commend his support for Kenny Stills and others who have sat or kneeled during the anthem.
