just like millennials are beginning to resent medicare for all the old dudes, the cost of insuring 55 and up would put more pressure to expand to everyone.
You don't explain how to pay for the younger people though. They may have lower costs, but not zero.
Another way to do this would be to leave the current old age limit at 65, but add under 18 as another medicare bracket. So you would have Medicare from birth to 18 and from 65 till death. Think of the benefit to parents in their peak earning years.
Hey. I'm all for universal healthcare (I am a Democrat after all), but for now MFA is just a slogan, something to shout and feel good about shouting. It is not about to happen. Some expansion of Medicare might.
