Las Vegas the other night was exactly what those weapons are intended for. They weren'tt made for yokels to play war games with, they weren't made for target practice nor hunting, and they weren't made for home defense against burglars. They were made for exactly what this guy used them for, to kill and injure as many human beings as possible in the shortest amount of time.
