(4,035 posts)We know that even though it will not be perfect, will never be perfect, the aim of all the policies the Democrats espouse is a better life for as many as possible. And yes, that means taking responsibility for when we fail to make people's lives better. However, that failure is not the goal of our politics.
For the Republicans that is not the case. Not voting Democratic, or deliberately not voting at all, is supporting the destructive agenda of the Republicans. It is wishing people harm. Their policies entail being willing to let people die, or in fact, being willing to deliberately put them in harm's way, or being willing to actively kill them. And I see a marked and significant difference in unintentionally hurting people while working to make their lives better versus refusing to stop Republicans from deliberately hurting people because you are throwing a childish tantrum.
You may see it differently. That's your prerogative. But don't expect me to condone it, and not blaming you if you put your feelings above other people's lives.
