Some cases of the flu are being reported in major metro areas, like Minneapolis St. Paul, MN. It's not widespread, but it's out there. I stopped in today to get my vaccination. I'm an old fart, so I got the high-dose shot with an adjuvant that reinforces the body's reaction. That's recommended for everyone over 65.
The flu shot is covered by all insurance coverages, including Medicare, another benefit of the ACA, which mandates coverage for most preventive immunizations.
As a side note, the nurse practitioner at the Minute Clinic I went to asked if I also wanted a "cootie shot." I said, "Sure." So, "Circle, circle, dot, dot. Now I have my cootie shot."
