(80,521 posts)I don't think we can afford to forget about it, or drop it, and assume we can or should just move on. Reading through threads like this takes me directly to that old saying: "those who forget history are doomed to repeat it." A famous cliche is NOT a famous cliche for no reason.

This saying appears in many different forms, but the earliest version
is probably that of the poet and philosopher George Santayana: "Those
who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
