and begin giving us anecdotes. One of my guilty pleasures is watching "Judge Judy" and, without fail, there will be someone appearing who is on "SSDI". They have a "back injury" and Judy will rail about how we are paying for this person. I have written the show on numerous occasions to remind Judy that we worker bees pay into the system to be able to receive SSDI.

I do agree there are many goldbricks out there, but if they qualify for SSDI they generally have been a working person. Admittedly I resent drug addicts and alcoholics receiving SSDI, but that's my own prejudice. If they worked and paid into the system, they are entitled. My concern is doctors being too willing to certify people that may not be deserving. I know that sounds like a conservative, but - in case you didn't know - I'm an old fart and we are more conservative. I would never accept any kind of disability, welfare or food stamps because of the ridiculous way I was raised - in the 50's. It just wasn't done if you could still work any kind of job.
