Q: What's the definition of a virgin in Alabama?
A: A teenage girl who can run faster than her uncle.

Stereotypes aside, it's perplexing that Alabama, Mississippi and (to a lesser extent) Louisiana have such collapsed economies and societies.

These states take far more from the Federal Government than they contribute. So much for their vaunted "independence."

The continued support for the Confederacy-- the Stars and Bars are on the Mississippi state flag!-- illustrate their unwillingness to mature and join the pluralism of most of the rest of the U.S. While driving through Alabama recently, my NY license plates brought many curious and suspicious comments.

The speed with which this story about Moore came out, coupled with the ferocity of establishment Republicans embrace of it, makes me think that it's of questionable veracity. Regardless, it won't surprise me at all if Moore wins his election.
