Unless you count M-16 Basic Rifle Marksmanship in the Army; continuous re-training on the rifle throughout a four-year active duty hitch; training on the .45 automatic and the Beretta 9mm personal sidearms issued to tank crewmen in the field, safety and proficiency training on the M-60 machine gun, the M-2 .50 caliber vehicle crew-served weapon (we called it the "Ma Deuce"
, the M-240 co-axial machine gun, and the M-256 main gun of the tank.
This is me, on the right, bearing my issue M1911A1 .45 automatic in my shoulder holster in the Gulf in 1991:

When I was a teenager, my father taught me to shoot his .38 Colt and his Smith & Wesson .357.
But other than all of that, you're right. No weapons training.
I suppose one could say I got an enthusiasm for guns out of my system during my service in the Army. Firing guns that most tea-baggers could only wet-dream about...
