Good news. If Al Franken resigns, the Democratic Minnesota Governor will appoint a new senator [View all]

No special election is required in Minnesota, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Al Franken resigns, as I suspect he will, then the Democratic Minnesota Governor is almost certain to pick a democratic replacement.
