In reply to the discussion: Here's another thing that bothers me about Franken's assassination: the photo [View all]Whiskeytide
(4,655 posts)... that refers to her consent to go along with the joke. NOT her consent to be groped. She doesnt get to claim she was sexually assaulted by what occurred in the photo (although that is EXACTLY What she claimed - she has ZERO credibility because of that).
If her complaint was they used me for a crude joke and I didnt appreciate it, I would say fair enough. Al should - and did - apologize for that. That should be the end of it.
But thats not what happened here. They used the photo out of context - PROMOTED it out of context - and it caught fire as something it wasnt. She was not sincere in her victimhood. It was a put on.
She showed the photo to Hannity 10 years ago. Neither she nor Hannity thought then that it was evidence of sexual assault. But they got together again a month or two ago, and in the wave of the MeToo movement, decided to pull a takedown op.
This shit diminishes victims of assault just as insidiously as actually blaming victims. And Tweeden, Stone and Hannity are laughing every time a Dem says its good that Al resigned.
