Nugent, 63, was stumping for Romney at the National Rifle Association convention in Missouri when he blasted Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and others as "criminals" of a "vile, evil, America-hating administration."

"If you don't know that our government is wiping its a(expletive) with the constitution, you're living under a rock," Nugent said in videotaped comments that have gone viral on the Internet.

"I'll tell you this right now: if Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," he said.

"We are patriots, we are brave hearts. We need to ride into that battlefield, and chop their heads off in November. Any questions?"
