That is fatally flawed. With a striving middle class, the entire economy grows, and grows more evenly, meaning the poor and need have less of a load and are easier to care for.
If you concentrate the wealth too much, then the same factors that led Karl Marx to predict revolution and how capitalism will fail will come to the forefront. Then, the 1% seriously need to fear for their lives. Hungry, unemployed mobs of gun toting angry people won't be stopped by a mere restricted community sign and wooden gate.
I keep wondering when the super rich will realize just how dangerous the conditions that they may be creating are.
For myself, violence is not an option. Too much harm and danger lies in that path.
I started reading Marx again last night. As an economist, he was quite prescient.
