Obama is HATED by the right, especially among trump supporters. It is only natural in the primary to try to link your opponent, know matter how strangely, to Obama. It is a third rail over there.

The only question is can it work? Probably not against tRump, who disses O at every turn.

It doesn't have to make sense to us. It just has to work for them.

Maybe if O had shown a backbone for the first 6 years it would be different, but he didn't. Now they walk all over him.
