(10,929 posts)70. A primary source of Politifact's funding is closely associated with the
Clintons and their Foundation so you have to take Politifact with a big grain of salt. I've covered that in prior posts so I'm not keep going through that every time this comes up. Folks can do that for themselves.
Secondly, the Sanders campaign alleged this when this whole thing went down. You have to keep up.
A link from the article at in the top post:
http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/18/politics/bernie-sanders-campaign-dnc-suspension/
Weaver said the original problem with the database's security, which did not involve the current database access company NGP VAN, dated back to October.
"We were very concerned that large amounts of our own data was being downloaded and we contacted the DNC to remedy the situation," he said. "We talked to them and we were assured that this was going to be taken care of. But apparently they are not competent in terms of maintaining the security of their data between the campaigns."
I haven't got the time nor the inclination to waste time going through this again. The claim is a fact and if they do not get a fair audit and investigation of what happened last October, then the lawsuit is going to go ahead full bore and I don't blame them a bit.
This was a crystal clear example of the unequal treatment of the two campaigns by the DNC. The Sanders campaign reports a breach and compromising of their data last October, the DNC does nothing. This dust up in December happens where folks in the Sanders campaign saw some of Clintons data and there is a big outcry and it's taken to the media.
Hillary Clinton and her campaign owns the DNC. If they do not come clean with an audit for last October, etc, then Sanders should follow through on his lawsuit and nail them for everything he can get and pass it to the media - just like the DNC and Clinton did to the Sanders campaign.
Whether the Clinton campaign and DNC likes it or not, unlike the application of the DNC bylaws in this election, the law is one set of rules that both parties have to adhere to.
If the Clinton campaign and DNC can't play fair, they should be nailed for it.

The lawsuit doesn't even allege HRC took data, but it admits BS staffers accessed HRC data.
