where he was beaten (suburban) I know some of the cops & they're pretty educated. If he had been wearing a turban, I think he would have be ID'd by the paper or the cops as being sikh.

I just don't get how someone misidentifies a Sikh as being a Muslim. Unless of course the attacker is uneducated.
