14. I saw the drilling for some of those cores in 1969 at Byrd Station.

Had some 2,000 year-old ice in my rum and coke in the EM club. No data was ruined. There were damaged discarded cores. Meanwhile cracks appeared in the permanent ice shelf at McMurdo. Today GOOGLE Earth shows open water in the Summer where we drove and landing strips were maintained.
