But Heitkamp only won by 50.2 to 49.3 in 2012!

Thus roughly speaking, 13% of voters are Trumpists who previously voted for Heitkamp! These crossover voters won't even consider voting for Heitkamp if she doesn't vote for a conservative SC Justice.

As I said, if her vote isn't decisive, she needs to vote for Kavanaugh or his conservative replacement. It's just smart politics.

Voting for a conservative justice gives her a small chance to pull it off. Voting against him and she might as well not bother campaigning.
