As a fellow Floridian, I'm bothered by the fact that the county Supervisors of Elections -- not to mention the Florida Secretary of State, who certifies statewide election results -- are partisan, elected officials themselves. And in many of the 67 counties, these are RepubliCONs.

What safeguards are in place to ensure that vote counts are accurately and objectively measured? OK, they may have sworn an oath, but what else is in place to protect us?

And, if the situation was reversed, where Democrats controlled vote-counting and validation, do you think the Reich-wing partisans would tolerate such a system? Not bloody likely!

If we, as a state, can overwhelmingly approve a constitutional amendment protecting greyhound dogs, why can we not submit and pass a similar referendum to protect our right to a secure and non-partisan oversight of voting results?
