For example take the character of Nick Fury who is white in the marvel comic universe who has been played both by David Hasselhoff and Samuel L. Jackson.
Hasselhoffs version in Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. reeked and he failed completely at the role (in fact I would be happy if we could burn every copy of that movie just to protect future generations from the horror) yet Jackson completely nailed the character 100% entirely later on when he cast in the role for the MCU due to his acting ability.
