I don’t think he believes him to be trans either, but referring to him in that way as an insult, implies that there is something wrong with that. It’s seems more derogatory towards the trans community than towards Lindsay Graham.

Like when Arnold Shwartznegger called legislators “girlie men.” I, as a female, found that offensive because rather than an insult to the men, it was an insult to women, implying that we are weak.
