Replying to @Stanford
This statement only reinforces how deeply you have stained your university's reputation.

Here is a better statement: "Scott Atlas statements and actions are repugnant. His denial of science is antithetical to our academic values, his indifference to life is antithetical to our human values. We will not welcome him back to Stanford or to the Hoover Institution."
——-

Pretty spineless. I am disappointed. You at least could say his opinions clash with the overwhelming weight of the evidence about COVID and condemn him for his apparent effort to incite domestic terrorism (despite the backtrack).

I don't think Stanford should comment on the weight of epidemiological opinion, but it should comment more strongly on incitement to political violence, particularly in the here and now against specific targeted govt.

——

Agree. By centering the University (“@Stanford’s position...”) and not the science (“epidemiologists worldwide agree...”), the statement buys into the idea that political both-sidesism is an acceptable approach to the public discussion of #COVID19.
