(13,564 posts)Trump is looking for ways to delay conceding the election because it gives him more time to collect donations for his legal fund, most of which goes to his own new PAC, not legal expenses. It also gives him more time to resist allowing the transition to start because all states arent decided yet, which seems to be his goal so he can do as much damage as possible and hand Biden a totally dysfunctional government on January 20one he hasnt had time to prepare for because his team is stymied from talking to people in the administration. At least he and his team are experienced and will make the best of a bad situation.
All states must certify their election results before December 14, when each states EC delegates vote. So Trump has until December 14 to refuse to concede, even though there is no question about who won. I think his faithless electors ploy will not work, but I just want the EC vote over. After that, even Republicans in Congress can have no excuse for supporting Trumps refusal to concede.
