In reply to the discussion: Trump Admin Held Back Phone Numbers and Addresses That Could Have Reunited Separated Migrant Childre [View all]klook
(12,152 posts)53. The cruelty is indeed the point.
One of the sick reasons the Republican base loves Trump so much is that he "hurts the right people."
What Ive been struck most by in talking to some of these Trump voters over the years is that they honestly didnt expect that he would make them fabulously rich. They didnt think they would personally get much out of it. They were confident that politicians didnt really care about people like them and that good jobs werent coming back from overseas. They didnt even really believe that things would be better for their kids or grandkids.
But they did think Trump would hurt the right people, at least. That usually came down to believing some combination of him kicking the immigrants out, cracking down on crime, saving unborn babies and restoring traditional marriage. If they couldnt be happy, at least all the less-deserving people would get theirs.
It was revenge politics at its finest and Trump masterfully tapped into that.

I'm not a lawyer, but pretty sure The Hague and UN will not accept Trump's self-pardon

And that Nazi is fawning over his new daughter. I wish he knew how it'd feel to have her go missing.

Biden should *NOT* even think about pardoning Trump. He must answer for this atrocity.
