7. Well, he won the nomination in the first place with less than majority support

This is not new. The question now is what becomes of the GOP from here. They could consolidate the anti-Trump voters and run someone semi-sane, but risk hardcore Trumpists staying home. Or they could try to rebrand the crazy and find someone more competent who can appeal to the Trumpists. Right now, I have no doubt Biden will win a second term so they have at least 8 years to figure out how and whether the party can survive. It's important to watch this closely as it should impact Dem strategy.
