119. She isn't going to resign, and her legislative actions have been always been progressive

She was ahead of the whole country on the Aids crisis in the 80's, women's rights, gun control, etc. etc. etc.
and there is no doubt she will vote to convict when the Senate trial begins, just like she did the first time.

On almost all issues she votes the right way.

This will be her last term as Senator, and she has been a good Senator for the country and California

The point I was making is that I believe she was arguing from a procedural perspective not taking into consideration that what the republicans were trying to do was actually overturn the election.

In 2016 there were some Democrats in the House who wanted to make a point during the certification of the election, but Biden put an end to that very quickly, especially since they couldn't find one Senator to sign on to it.

The reason why this was different in 2020, is because there were republicans in BOTH the house and the senate who were seriously trying to overturn the election based on lies and falsehoods, and the courts confirmed that there was no merit to that.
