2. Winning in 2022 and Trump's conviction aren't all that connected. This is outreach, imo.

Actually, acquitting Trump will work in their favor to increase a new version of what they hope will revive as an actual political party.

My theory: It's NRCC's leadership attempt, as a minority faction (what I call the remnant Republicans), to reach out to the cult to join under enough key issues beyond Trump himself, to raise their vote numbers.

Trumpcult lost in 2020 due to inadequate popular vote numbers, not because their platform was a person, and so this new push is for a new platform that trumpcult believes Trump would accept, so that remnants will work with new registrants attracted to a new platform.

Just my theory. For all we know, right now, they could just be offering cover for the cult, as if new registrants, or those who left the party to become 'independents,' will only go for a reformed party
