(22,631 posts)It was not unusual for the principal or the vice principal to call me, a senior at the time, to the office, then send me to her where the bullying was taking place. This was usually the girls bathroom where she was locked in a stall. She had been literally backed into the place while her bullies were pounding on the stall door yelling and taunting her. She was always crying and terrified while these evil girls, aside from also being idiots, were relentless.
I never hit anyone and the thought never crossed my mind, but the tongue lashings I dispensed have been deemed legendary and were always effective.The question I have looking back, is why couldn't or wouldn't the adults, in this case principal and vice principal, do anything?
It doesn't seem that things have changed, much less improved, when it comes to remedies and interventions for this problem that in my sister's case was more than thirty years ago. Indeed things, as evidenced in this incident, have gotten much, much worse.
