The founding fathers would never have approved of the filibuster, having warned against requiring action only by supermajority.
Plus, and most important, the Republicans of today are not the Republicans of yesterday. They now realize they can't win in a fair, democratic election, so they are dismantling democracy, one crazy voter-supressing state law at a time. That is why we need to end the filibuster so we can pass a law to protect voters from these laws, or we will lose our democracy.
Yes, it is "a rule that we have used ourselves, but now seem to find unacceptable." And the reason it is unacceptable is because it will destroy our democracy! Why is that so hard for you to understand?????
