A very substantial majority of the country - in the final result, had little real objection to Taliban governance, or rules. (and that after having had the advantage of living under that rule, and being quite well aware of its implications, previously)

Yes, I feel great sympathy for the women and children, living once again under harsh and repressive strictures. While also recognizing that a good percentage of women were/are also in support of this type of strict social order as well. (as they so often are) It appears, from this perspective, a great social tragedy. But - the Afghan people, in large part, chose to roll back the clock.
