In reply to the discussion: Ocasio-Cortez won't commit to backing Biden in 2024: 'We'll cross that bridge when we get to it' [View all]llashram
(6,269 posts)ms. Ocasio-Cortez. Don't back your POTUS. I ran into a repthug recently. He was blaming President Biden for the high fuel costs that the gasoline companies are gouging out of the American people. I asked him, can you remember that d.trump possibly knew because of his very close association with putin in Russia that a war was coming. Being so obsessed with the then President's son, he tried to leverage his backing of President Zelensky with some kind of information which would show some type of unlawful behaviour by President Biden's son. The repthug that showed up at our weekend barbecue sputtered something about Hunter Biden's guilt on his laptop. I then asked why would d.trump as POTUS withhold critical help to Ukraine with Russia threatening, behind the scenes at that time, to go to war with that country? We didn't know it but I bet trump knew it and that's one of the reasons he fought so hard, outside of his narcissistic personality disorder not allowing him to see himself as a loser, to overthrow the election. He would have backed Putin to the hilt. With all that might have entailed in intel etc... He said Russia is just taking back its rightful land from "nazis".
I could go on, but my final question was who's responsible for our high fuel cost? He said, President Biden. I stopped. I said President Biden was no friend of Putin's and along with the EU had to exact some type of price from Russia for an unlawful incursion-war-genocide against Ukraine and if I had to suffer some with high prices then I just had to bite the bullet. My friend and I walked away from that clown after laughing in his face. Not many people talked to him.
I just hope though that something can be found to stop the oil companies from ripping us off. My retirement $$$ go just so far.
