But, having said that, its my understanding from several news reports, including one on NPR, that most people of Hispanic origin have no idea WTF Latinx means; its a white-mans construct. For Hispanics from Mexico, etc., they are either Latin(os), if male, or Latina(s), if female and mixed-sex groups are generally referred to simply as Latinos. Theres no gender-neutral noun in Spanish.
Its also my understanding that most Latinos dont like the term Latinx once they have it explained to them. Personally, I think the term is dumb, and over the top with the PC stuff. And when it turns off the people you want on your side, its time to stop doing/using it.
