(22,131 posts)55. Yes, all nouns have a gender in Spanish, either masculine or feminine.
Adjectives are also gendered to agree with the noun they modify. French is the same way, as are (afaik) all the other "Romance" languages.
German has THREE genders (masculine, feminine, and neuter). Gender is deeply embedded in many, many European languages. (I don't know about the rest of the world, because I haven't studied any non-European languages.)
I can see why some native speakers of a language like Spanish might object to "outsiders" tampering with their language in a way that actually violates the language's internal rules. I don't think I'd care for it, either.
