(13,570 posts)12. Vladimir Kara-Murza recently wrote an opinion piece for WaPo in which he stated his belief
that Putin was afraid to order a nuclear strike because his generals would not obey him. We can all hope this is true, and the generals known the retaliation from NATO would effectively mean massive strikes on the Russian homeland. I doubt that NATO would retaliate with nuclear weapons, but even their conventional weapons would cause enormous damage to Russia, which so far has escaped any serious damage on their soil.

It hasnt triggered the US in the past and we lost Vietnam and both the US and Russia lost
