Their son fought in the US Army in the war. Their cousins all died in the Holocaust.
My stepfather's mother fled the communists in the 1920s. She loved long enough to see the fall of that government, and even returned to her hometown in 1998. She lived long enough to see Putin's rotted soul and to cast her last presidential ballot for Hillary Clinton.
