Is it law that a party nominee must be given full security clearance? Or just policy? This seems like a huge risk, what if the current administration ignores past practice with respect to the most sensitive stuff? Would a court agree that policy outweighs national security?

A security clearance shouldn't be automatically granted to someone because they are elected as POTUS.
