In reply to the discussion: Louisiana governor 'can't wait to be sued' after forcing the ten commandments in classrooms [View all]Warpy
(114,640 posts)20. Yeah, WHICH TEN, Asshole?
If they're the KJV, you've just pissed off the Catholics, and there are a hell of a lot of Catholics in Louisiana. If they're the Douay version, then the Baptists are going to be up in arms, they get awfully snotty about Catholics. Plus, there are a lot of other versions from texts that have been rewritten over the last 100 years by men with some kind of axe to grind and they'll piss everybody off.
Plus, the smarter kiddies are going to see there is nothing about abortion or homosexuality there, guess neither one is sinful, the preachers are ally lying their asses off.
I await the interdenominational friction to turn into strife. Way to go, jerk.

And if they're going to display The Jewish Commandments, put up all 613 Mitzvot, not just the first ten.

Serious question, would we allow Five Pillars of Islam or the Eight-Fold Path of Buddhism in schools?
