(208 posts)You do know where Pittsburgh is, right? Super Bowls, Stanley Cups, World Series Championships, Collegiate National Championships, Westinghouse, PPG, Primantis, Carnegie Mellon, University of Pittsburgh, Andy Warhol, among others.
I am certain the ad buys in the greater Philadelphia area might be different than the greater Pittsburgh area. We are a smaller market. More people here identify with Cleveland than Philadelphia. Most people here only know people from the eastern part of the state from college, including myself.
The city of Pittsburghs population loss is very well known. The loss of the Steel industry decimated this area. Without the absolute resilience of the people of Western PA, this entire region would consist of ghost towns. However, it doesnt. Pittsburgh is trying to make another comeback. The city Senator Fetterman moved to, Braddock, has seen revitalization thanks to the Senator. The area in which I live has seen a huge population growth. Allegheny County, where Pittsburgh lies, is considered to be more established. The outlying counties are growing, both in business moving in and families relocating from elsewhere. Pittsburgh is solid blue, as are many of the suburbs. Other suburbs are red/pink to purple/blue. Outlying counties trend from deep red to purple.
My focus is on those purple area voters who will never vote for trump. Some voted in 2016, some did not. I am not even attempting to know the political divisions of the Eastern part of the state. Never have. My focus has been and will remain on those former trump or non voters. I want them to vote for Biden.
I am not here to argue. Simply making my observation. President Biden would gain thousands of votes if he were to hold a town hall event in this area. But into in the city, where his vote is assured, but in the outlying areas where people are looking for someone to vote for. I have constantly stated that I feel President Biden will easily win PA. I would like to see a huge margin of victory.
Thats all Ive been saying. You can disagree, thats fine.
