I would think that if a bullet travelling 3,000 ft/sec just barely touched his ear, the wound would not be coverable by a 1 1/2 by 2 1/2 inch bandage.

I'm in the "nicked by a piece of the teleprompter" camp. Letting the medical records out would interfere with the "He survived a shot in the face because God has chosen him to save our country" storyline they're working so hard to create.
