Child’s play? Forty-three Ohio House Republicans are sponsoring a bill that would classify drag queen story hours and other children’s events as adult cabaret performances, along with exotic and go-go dancing, and would prohibit them. Under House Bill 245, any cabaret performance in front of a minor would be criminalized as a misdemeanor or felony, depending on whether the performance was harmful or obscene. Equality Ohio plans to fight the bill, Laura Hancock reports.

Trans-ban: U.S. Sen. JD Vance on Tuesday announced that he’s introduced legislation that would make providing “gender-affirming care” to minors a federal Class C felony, punishable with a prison sentence of 10 to 25 years, Sabrina Eaton reports. The Cincinnati Republican’s “Protect Children’s Innocence Act” also would block taxpayer funding for such procedures, including banning coverage of the treatments from Affordable Care Act insurance plans, stopping universities from providing instruction on “gender-affirming care,” and deeming noncitizens who have performed “gender-affirming care” on a minor ineligible to receive visas or admittance to the United States.

During his Senate campaign in July 2022, Vance told Mission America, a right-wing Christian organization based in Ohio, that he would oppose the Respect for Marriage Act, a bill to ensure federal marriage protections for same-sex and interracial marriages. Congress passed the legislation in fall 2022, and President Joe Biden signed it in December, before Vance was sworn in in January 2023.

Vance has also echoed false tropes increasingly used by conservatives to describe LGBTQ people and those who support them as “groomers.”

“I’ll stop calling people ‘groomers’ when they stop freaking out about bills that prevent the sexualization of my children,” Vance said on social media in April 2022.

This fucker was against the "Respect for Marriage Act" that codified the very "interracial marriage" that HE is in.

When he goes along with the racial insults against Kamala Harris, whose mother was from India JUST LIKE HIS WIFE, that type of shit needs to be pointed out and he needs to be ridiculed for not pushing back.

You might notice the difference in reactions between him "in drag" vs Ghouliani and even 45 "in drag" is BECAUSE of the hypocrisy.

He should be nowhere near the White House, let alone in any elected office.
