In reply to the discussion: Trump admin tells agencies to start firing DEI staffers [View all]Hugin
(38,099 posts)36. My closest co-worker at the time was a refugee from AMC.
U.S. Army Materiel Command, also known as, A Million Civilians. When the RiF happened, I was on my way out the gate because he had literally four more days time-in-service. He felt really bad about that. Luckily, (or maybe not) I got pulled back in because I had a dual classification that afforded me some additional earned time-in-service. I somehow made it through four months working without pay. I did end up under an entirely different command, though. Which in those days was a really big deal and I had to re-start everything in my tenure from square one. I existed in HR purgatory for the next four or five years. I cringed every time I had mail with the Army letterhead.
The AMC guy lasted for six months and was gone.
