and, by extension, any other atrocity including but not limited to nuclear annihilation, is to choose a supertior enemy to attack.
This military tactic used to be called suicidal and idiotic. But these days, it appears to have gained the status of a legitimate explanation for being suicidal and idiotic.

Not surprising but so tragic for the hostages and their families. Any way you cut it, the killing will continue sadly
