85. Does anyone else remember this old adage?

Years and years ago (I'm 81) my father and I were somewhere that had a lot of visitors -- may have been a local historic site, I just don't remember. Right there in plain sight was fresh graffiti where someone had penciled or carved or somehow written their initials and the date.

Dad shook his head and commented:

Fools names and fools faces are often seen in public places.
