Most, if not all, of the NFL owners are publicly Trump supporters.
Trump tried a few times to become a NFL owner but failed.
Trump owned the USFL New Jersey Generals in the 1980s.
USFL had some success until some of the owners, led by Trump, decided to compete in the fall with the NFL.
The USFL had to fold but sued the NFL for antitrust.
Some felt the move was an attempt to force a merger between the two leagues.
The NFL attorney decided he need a villain and of course picked Trump.
Trump's testimony on the stand contradicted on several points the NFL commissioner at the time, Pete Rozelle.
The USFL won their case but were only awarded $3 in effective damages.
NFL is a club Trump wished he was a member.
